An ethos of sourcing locally, championing seasonality, and eradicating food waste has seen The Pasture Restaurant group secure a 3* ‘Food Made Good’ Rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) – making them the first independently owned restaurant in Wales to achieve the respected accreditation.

A new event will shine a light on the evolving local food scene in the Vale of Glamorgan - with a particular focus on showcasing sustainable food and drink. The inaugural Vale Food Trail will take place from 9th – 18th June and will include a calendar of events designed to bring people closer to food producers and businesses in the Vale.

Food Cardiff, a city-wide partnership of more than 200 individuals and organisations - is asking people from all walks of life to ‘make a pledge’ and take action, to help Cardiff achieve Gold Sustainable Food Places status by the year 2024.

A group of independent coffee shops and restaurants in Cardiff has teamed up to promote #ContactlessCoffee, and encourage the safe and hygienic use of reusable coffee cups as lockdown restrictions lift.

Almost 14,000 plants, seeds and growing kits are being distributed during lockdown as part of a city-wide campaign to encourage people to grow their own vegetables. A team of 70 volunteers across 16 projects will reach over 3,000 households with seeds or plants, with more than 100 people joining online growing classes.
